Description

Pokémon Emerald Imperium is a challenging, quality-of-life-focused ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald. Version 1.1 is now fully released, offering a complete experience from the beginning to the Champion battle, with additional post-game content. Inspired by Pokémon Radical Red, this hack enhances gameplay mechanics, trainer battles, and overall balance while staying true to Hoenn’s core adventure.

While not directly affiliated with Radical Red, Emerald Imperium incorporates many of its most acclaimed features, including:

  • Updated abilities, stats, and movepools
  • Adjusted type interactions and evolution methods
  • A redesigned difficulty curve for a more engaging challenge

Designed for difficulty hack enthusiasts and Nuzlockers, Pokémon Emerald Imperium delivers intense, strategic gameplay while preserving the nostalgic charm of the original Pokémon Emerald.

Are you ready to take on Hoenn like never before?

Minimal Grinding Mode

With MGM on, all Pokémon have perfect IVs, and EVs are disabled for both players and NPCs. With MGM off, IVs are random, EVs can be gained, and you still have tools to customize IVs and EVs instantly. NPC trainers will always have perfect IVs and be EV-trained.

Difficulty Modes

  • Normal – The intended difficulty. Boss fights are tough, Bag use is disabled in trainer battles, and battle style is Set.
  • Easy – Still harder than a regular Pokémon game but easier than Normal mode. Boss Pokémon are 2 levels lower, Bag use is allowed, and battle style defaults to Set but can be changed to Shift.

Randomizer

Available in-game with three options:

  • Fully Random – Every Pokémon is completely randomized.
  • Scaled Random – Pokémon are randomized into others with similar base stats.
  • Legendary-Aware Random – Randomized, but Legendaries only swap with other Legendaries.
Boss trainers’ Pokémon stay the same.
Ability randomization is also available and works separately from species randomization.

Stat Editor, IV Perfecter NPC, and Hidden Power Changer

In Minimal Grinding Mode:

  • IV Perfecter NPC is disabled since all Pokémon already have perfect IVs.
  • Stat Editor can freely change IVs but not EVs.
  • Hidden Power type can be changed freely.

NOT in Minimal Grinding Mode:

  • IV Perfecter NPC: You can perfect the IVs of 5 Pokémon per Gym Badge. After all 8 Badges, you can use it freely.
  • Stat Editor: You can edit EVs freely. IVs can only be changed for Pokémon that have been perfected by the IV Perfecter NPC.
  • Hidden Power Changer: Can only change the type for Pokémon with perfected IVs.

IMPORTANT

Avoid using VBA or MyBoy, as they can cause visual glitches and crashes. For the best experience, use mGBA on PC and PizzaBoy, Lemuroid, or RetroArch (with the mGBA Core) on mobile.
