Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Merchants Versus Pirates Scoring Values

The score in this hack is determined by a score out of 100.

60- Item value
35- Timing
4- Clearing the first boss
11- Clearing the second boss in full

You are unable to go above the maximum in each category. While the total absolute maximum score adds up to 110, it will be set to 100 if the total score is greater than 100.

Item value

The points for item value is determined by the sell value of your items in your inventory, divided by 60.
If you are playing the Pirate route, then this total is multiplied by 1.4.

Timing

The point value is determined by the amount of time you cleared the dungeon in. Specifically, the absolute maximum is obtained if you clear the dungeon in less than 20 minutes. For every 90 seconds (1.5 seconds) after 20 min, you will lose 1 point.

Do also note that the timer only counts when in a dungeon or in a boss battle. Thus, the following do not contribute to timing:

  • Overworld
  • Cutscenes

However, when you are defeated at any point, that time is still added to the timer. Ergo, getting defeated will add the time you spent in that dungeon in addition to any subsequent attempts.
Do also note that the timer does not count in the following dungeon (spoilers, much further down)

The timer does not count down while battling the Merchants or Pirates (depending on route). Thus, timing stops when defeating the second phase of Necrozma.
